ILLiad is the online request and management service used by the FIU Libraries for Interlibrary Loan. Please allow one (1) business day for your registration to be confirmed and activated.
Interlibrary Loan will try to obtain books, articles, and other items that are not owned by the FIU University Libraries from other libraries.
Textbooks are often not available through interlibrary loan due to a widespread trend of libraries not purchasing them. Meanwhile, libraries, publishers, academic administrators, and faculty all over the world are working together to create more affordable textbook options. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

If the lending institution has not offered an extension, your original due date stands. Accounts will be blocked for overdue books. Call your local ILLiad staff member for help with the process of requesting an extension if you wish. It is common that no extensions are offered, so order another copy of your item if you anticipate an extended need.
UBorrow is an interlibrary loan system between the State University Libraries.
Only physical books are available through UBorrow. E-Books and audio-visual materials are not available at this time.
OCLC requests are preferred, however, Non-OCLC Libraries can submit requests via the ILLiad Lending Webpages. To set up an account click on "First Time Users" to register your library. Requests submitted via mail, fax, or email will not be filled and incomplete requests may experience delays in processing. For ownership and library holdings information, please verify in the FIU Libraries Catalog prior to submitting a request.
Charges are flat fees per request. FXG and FXN are OCLC-IFM participants. For non-OCLC-IFM libraries, invoices must be pre-paid. Payments must be made in U.S. Dollars. There are no lending charges for members of the following reciprocal agreement organizations: SEFLIN, FLIN, LYRASIS (SOLINET), LVIS, and ASERL.
