NEW DATABASE: Latin American Newspapers: World Newspaper Archive

We now have access to Latin American Newspapers: World Newspaper Archive.
Latin American Newspapers includes approximately 35 fully searchable newspapers printed throughout this region in the 19th and 20th centuries; available via a partnership between the Center for Research Libraries community and Readex.

DATABASE NEWS: ATLA w/ SERIALS

EBSCO Publishing, in collaboration with the ATLA, has enhanced the Scripture Authority File functionality available on ATLA Religion Database, ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials and ATLASerials Religion Collection via EBSCOhost.
Previously, ATLA Religion Database, ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials and ATLASerials Religion Collection via EBSCOhost displayed scripture references in alphabetical order and required users to search for exact scripture references indexed in a given citation.

NEW DATABASE: EBL (Electronic Book Library)

We now have access to ebook content via EBL (Electronic Book Library).

Once on the EBL portal, there is a more detailed user guide that can be downloaded. We currently only have access to 26 titles, available via the catalog or the EBL portal.  

enhancements to APA PsycNET

American Psychological Association announced the latest enhancements to APA PsycNET search platform for PsycINFO,PsycARTICLES, PsycBOOKS, PsycEXTRA, and PsycCRITIQUES. Three newfeatures—RSS Feeds, permalinks, and personalized email alerts—will help librarians and users streamline their workflow and manage APA resources more effectively. These enhancements are the direct result of customer feedback and will help users and researchers stay abreast of the literature.

SciFinder Scholar retirement of version 2006

As a reminder: On January 30th, 2009, CAS will discontinue access to the following versions of SciFinder®:
  • SciFinder Scholar 2006 for Microsoft® Windows
  • SciFinder Scholar 2006 for MAC OS X
If any students or faculty are using these versions, they should download SciFinder 2007 or switch to the web version of SciFinder to continue accessing SciFinder.  The library provides access to the 2007 SciFinder on the 2nd floor of GL, in the Electronic Research Center.
