This is a reference list of resources so that you can conduct research within the field of writing and rhetoric.

Main journals for the field of Writing & Rhetoric

To access College Composition and Communication (CCC)

  1. Go to the FIU Libraries website
  2. Click on the “eJournals” tab at the top of the page.
  3. Type in “College Composition and Communication,” then access via the last option listed, the Social Science Premium collection (only goes back to 1997, but is the easiest to search using a Boolean search).

For example, to find articles in this journal about code-meshing, you would access CCC, then search for the term “code-meshing” OR “code meshing” in the search field. This search gives you 12 of the most recent articles on code-meshing in CCC, including articles by top scholars, Asao Inoue; A. Suresh Canagarajah; Vershawn Young, and others.

To access College English

  1. Go to the FIU Libraries website
  2. Click on the “eJournals” tab at the top of the page.
  3. Type in “College English,” then access via the Social Science Premium collection (since it includes articles from 1988 through the present).

For example, to find articles on translingualism in this journal, you would access College English, then you might conduct a boolean search for multiple terms related to translingualism "translingual approach" OR "translingual orientation" OR "translingual literacy," which results in 29 articles within the journal.
