The Writing Center is ready to help you when your research is done and you are ready to write the paper.

• Be sure you understand the assignment - selecting a topic, what resources to use to research, what types of materials are allowed -- articles, books, videos, social media, etcs.
• Ask your instructor for clarification about assignments.
• Off campus?  Some library resources such as databases and online materials may require you to login.  You will be prompted when necessary.
• Select your topic -- Opposing Viewpoints in Context is an excellent resource for discovering and reading about topics.
• Your topic should be manageable, neither too narrow or too wide.
• Understand that a first draft is not the final draft.
