Annual Library Fair: Most Important Event @ the Best Place on Campus

The Most Important Event on Campus!

Another Successful Library Event!

The 2nd Annual Library Fair for Students was a huge success!  The success is because of your efforts, so thank you to everyone who participated. If you represented your department or volunteered with set-up, serving, registering, or breaking down, you made a difference in the 300+ students who participated. The verbal feedback included that it was a great location (hmm, well, the FIU Libraries are the best place on campus!) and other interesting tidbits. For example, students learned that:

  • If they write a book, their name will be in the catalog.
  • They can get their questions answered about any level of government.
  • There are databases for finding valid, credible research.
  • The physical library has many interesting, unique, and rare items.
  • There are a host of interesting items digitized online.

Some of the written feedback included:

  • Advertise more (please let us know if you have ideas on how to get the word out!)
  • I learned a lot (x10)
  • Nothing – I loved it. (x10)
  • Every table was very informative and kind. (x2)
  • I hope there are more events like this. (x5)
  • Bigger Space (anybody have ideas about this?)
  • I love the art exhibit.
  • It was a great event; I don’t think it needs improvement. (x5)
  • The gifts were super useful for studying.
  • Fun! Amazing! Perfect! Great! Awesome! (or some similar superlative). (x35)
  • Need more booths. (x4)
  • Make it on a semester basis.
  • Promote the books you have! (this is great feedback)
  • More stamps; there wasn’t a lot of ink (useful for planning & budgeting)
  • Provide QR codes for each service offered (good feedback for each department)
  • Got to know lots of resources.
  • You guys rock!
  • I would love more goodies but that is not a complaint.
  • More interactive events (x5)
  • I am completely satisfied with the service provided.
  • Better signage of where to get passports (something we can work on, although it was on the digital signage with an arrow).
  • Make sure people listen before stamping passports.
  • I loved the interactive map at dLOC.
  • I really liked the music stand.
  • Make the fair longer.
  • More food (definitely need a bigger budget)

New this Library Fair is the best booth award. The winner is Special Collections & University Archives! Job well done!
