Reporting OpenAthens issues

What to report?

  1. Details of the issue
  2. Secure the exact error code if any.
  3. Screenshot: Try to replicate the error and take a screenshot. If you cannot reproduce the error, ask the patron to send you a screenshot of the error. It is best to get the entire user's screen (browser information, network information, etc...)
  4. User's contact information if they would like to receive follow-up support.

Who to report it to?

Place a ticket in LibAnswers and direct it to:

  • Diana Reyes <dreyes@fiu.edu>
  • Jacqueline Radebaugh <jradebau@fiu.edu>

Using Permalinks in LibGuides

What is a "permalink"?

  • A "permalink" is a stable, permanent (or persistent) link to an online journal article or subscription resource, that can be accessed from any computer at any time.
    • Permalinks are also referred to as PIDs. (example: “https://fiu-flvc.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?query=”)
  • This is different than the URL in the address bar at the top of your browser.
    • That link displayed there maybe session dependent, and will only work for a particular person in a particular time period.
  • To make sure the link you use will work for other people, you will need to locate the permanent link to the article. In some databases, the permanent link is easy to find. In others, it's a bit harder. Instructions are provided on this page for some of the most commonly used databases. We encourage you to contact the liaison librarian if you need help using a different database.
