OER lends itself to Open Pedagogy which is the practice of engaging with students as creators of information rather than as just consumers. It's experiential learning where students demonstrate they understand through the act of creation. The products of open pedagogy are student created and open so they live outside of the classroom creating an impact on the greater community.
