Guide to finding and using eBooks.

Download with Adobe Digital Editions

Many publishers require digital rights management (DRM) be applied to ebooks to secure the content.  Adobe is one of the most frequently used DRM platforms in libraries today.  Ebooks which are hosted in Adobe format require an Adobe account and a compatible application/software to read or display the ebook.  The account management is typically done through the Adobe Digital Editions software.

FIU Libraries purchase titles from the following e-book vendors which use the Adobe Digital Editions system:

  • EBSCO EBooks
  • EBL
  • ebrary

Unfortunately, Adobe Digital Editions is not compatible with most Kindle devices.
