United Nations: An Introduction

This LibGuide was created for the purpose of providing users with a basic understanding of the United Nations, its structure, and to provide users with access to resources available online and at FIU’s Green Library.

Please join me in congratulating our Model United Nations team for an exceptional performance at this year’s national competition in New York City.

Competing among 183 delegations from around the world, Team FIU received an Outstanding Delegation award. And for the first time in FIU history, every delegate won an individual award.
I encourage you to take a moment and watch a mini-documentary chronicling their experiences and their pursuit of perfection.

With the leadership of School of International and Public Affairs Director John Stack and FIU MUN Program Director Ray Hernandez, FIU’s Model UN program has become one of the most successful in the United States. This is the latest example of our students’ achievement and their Worlds Ahead spirit!
