Applied Artificial Intelligence

ARC performs extensive research in Applied Artificial Intelligence providing solutions in Cybersecurity, Nuclear, Computer Vision, IoT, Robotics, Sensor, and Network application domains for federal / state governments and national labs. Current research is focused on Machine Learning, Deep Learning,  Big Data, Visualization, and Blockchain with On-Premise & Cloud deployment. ARC has established an Artificial Intelligence & Big Data Hub equipped with CPU/GPU servers to support the Applied Artificial Intelligence research efforts. ARC researchers are also teaching undergraduate & graduate Applied Artificial Intelligence concentration courses in Electrical & Computer Engineering. The Artificial Intelligence micro-credential

You will comprehend and appreciate the nature of AI, its history, how it works, and its impact. You will describe basic concepts related to AI, several core techniques, and how AI is likely to advance in the future. Upon completion of this micro-credential, you will: 

  • Define core concepts related to and concerns of AI 
  • Describe the overall arc of the history of AI and identify major milestones
  • Describe, at a high level, several core techniques by which AI systems work 
  • Describe the impact that AI is having and will have on the world

Applied Artificial Intelligence Program

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department encompasses a broad range of research and educational interests. It is the policy of the department to involve each faculty member in a balanced combination of research and teaching so as to fully benefit the students. A large number of our faculty has considerable industrial experience, and many maintain active consulting roles to provide current and relevant knowledge to the students in classroom and research settings.
