The Resource Development Department is made up of the Acquisitions and Serials units at the Green Library and the Hubert Library. All library materials are ordered, received, and made accessible for our users, in conjunction with the Cataloging Department, from this department. The Acquisitions unit orders and receives print and electronic books, videos, CDs, and DVDs, and processes all library resources payments. The Serials unit orders and receives all journals, newspapers, and other continuing resources, in all formats.

Faculty may submit a request for the libraries to purchase books and audio visual material through the OLAS (Online Library Acquisition System) Form (linked below). Requests for journals may be made by sending an email to jrlreq@fiu.edu. As journals incur a recurring cost to the Library, these requests go through the Collection Advisory Committee for approval.
