How to Connect to Resources

How to Access Library Databases

Proprietary access to FIU Library resources at the FIU Center for Translational Science currently runs through our EZProxy system. This system will verify your affiliation with the university and grant you access to the resource.

When to use VPN

VPN can be used instead of EZProxy. This option may lead to reduced upload/download network speeds while connected. It is generally recommended that you use our EZProxy and do not use VPN for this reason. Our system should be configured to grant you access.

You will hear more about OpenAthens

The FIU Libraries and other institutions in the State University System are currently in the process of implementing a new system of E-Resource permissions management through OpenAthens. This will allow you to use your University Login to access resources at the Database level. As we get closer to implementation we will communicate more details on the way this new system works.
