Introduction

The European Union is the result of an economic and political partnership between European countries.  Originally devised at end of World War II, the EU consists of a number of different institutions that negotiate intergovernmental decisions in various areas, including law and economics.  The structure of the EU is undergoing a number of changes as per the 2009 Treaty of Lisbon.  Florida International University Green Library is one of the few EU Depository libraries and contains excellent resources from the EU on a variety of topics.
