The Problem
People throughout time and across cultures
have developed ways of expressing their identities, beliefs and
cultural traditions through the adornment, shaping or marking
of the body. You, as a global citizen, have decided to participate
in this ritual of self-expression by getting some form of body
art. You suspect your parents will disapprove since every time
they see Dennis Rodman or Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst they make
some remark about the horror of tattoos and piercings. Having
had differences of opinion before, you know that your parents
will only be convinced by a strong argument. You've also decided
to use this topic for a class research paper. Finding quality
