Access to all the collections is available through the online catalog
The following types of nonprint materials
are available in both Libraries:
  • 1/2 inch (VHS) video tapes
  • DVDs
  • 12 in. laser discs
  • microcomputer software
  • CD-ROMs
  • 16mm films
  • 3/4 inch video tapes
These additional nonprint materials
are housed in UP Libraries:
  • compact discs
  • LP records
  • art slides
  • books-on-tape
  • audio cassettes
  • multi-media kits
Equipment needed to use these materials is available for use in the library.
Services:
Circulation

The following individuals may borrow FIU Audiovisual Library resources: faculty, adjuncts, staff, undergraduate, graduate, PhD students, alumni, library associates, SEFLIN members, other SUS. FIU Photo ID card is required for all transactions.

In-House Use
In-house use is defined as use in the Audiovisual Library or in a classroom on either Florida International University campus.

Classroom Use
Equipment Distribution: UP 2815 BBC 5741 arranges for equipment needed for classroom us.
Intercampus Loan
Monday through Friday an intercampus shuttle transfers AV materials between campus for in-house, classroom, or personal checkout.

Reserve AV
Faculty may place any av material on reserve for their students. A form declaring compliance with copyright law must be signed to place faculty's personal materials on reserve.

Computer Center
The computer center for use by the university community.
Copyright Law and Fair Use Guidelines
It is our policy to conform and adhere to existing United States Copyright laws and to maintain the highest possible ethical standards in our use of copyrighted materials for instructional purposes. Copies of the law and guidelines are available at the AV library.
