Wireless connectivity is available in the FIU Libraries. Access to the Internet is via the University's telecommunications network from almost any location within the Green Library and Biscayne Bay Library buildings.

Note -- Reception and signal strength may vary within wireless areas.

Wireless Access in the FIU Libraries
Green Library, University Park Biscayne Bay Campus Library
  • 1st Floor -- not part of the library; wireless available in Main Lobby and other areas
  • 2nd Floor -- all areas (the Library "begins" on this floor)
  • 3rd Floor - Periodicals Collection & the School of Law Library
  • 4th Floor - all areas
  • 5th Floor - all areas, including Room 540
  • 6th Floor - study areas
  • 7th Floor - study areas
All public areas -- Floors 1, 2, and 3
How to Go Wireless
Using Your Laptop in the Library Check Out a Library Laptop
  1. A wireless network card must be installed in your computer. Don't have a wireless card? You may buy one at the UTS Service Desk, Room 177 in the Green Library Building, or at the FIU Bookstore in the Graham Center.
  2. Register the MAC address of your network card at the Automated IP Request System (AIRS).
  3. Click on the link that says "Register Now".
  4. Allow at least 15 minutes for registration to become active.
  5. For technical support contact the UTS Support Team at (305) 348-2284 or go to UTS website.
  1. Go the the Circulation Desk to check out a laptop.
  2. Your valid Panther I.D. Card is required.
  3. Loan period is 2 hours. Overdue fines are assessed beginning at $30 per hour. The replacement fee is $2,200.
  4. Laptops may not be removed from the library (the library ends at the security gates on the 2nd Floor at University Park and the 1st Floor at Biscayne Bay).
  5. Microsoft Office Suite is provided
  6. Printing is available through the library's public printers.
  7. Work must be saved to a diskette.
