Serials Soultions Guide

Serials Solutions 360Link

In an effort to improve service to our users, the University Libraries have made a change in the link resolver used for searching for full-text items in databases and journals.

When you perform a search in one of the library databases, such as Gale's Academic OneFile, instead of the SFX button, you will see a button labeled  "Find It @ FIU" next to each article citation.

Find It

Clicking on this button will provide users with any full-text options for the article.  This functionality has been available at our libraries for a few years, but the technology behind the search has changed.  You may notice a new look to the resulting pages and links.

Additional information regarding the Serials Solutions 360 Link software is available at: http://www.serialssolutions.com/ss_360_link.html

Finding Full-Text Articles: Using Serials Solutions

What does Serials Solutions do?

It helps you find the full text of articles.  When doing research, you often find a citation or maybe an abstract, of an article in a database but the text of the article isn’t included. Serials Solutions will let you check all the other library full text resources to see if you can get the article either in a different database or in the library’s print or microform periodicals.

Citation Linker

Although the form and page may look different, Citation Linker is still performing the same function for you.

It will link you to the full-text of a specific citation or article if the Library subscribes to it.

Also, check out our new E-Journal Portal.  It allows you to browse our electronic journal collections by package, title, or subject area.
