View Items You Have Borrowed

Self-Renewal of FIU Library Materials
If you have questions about specific renewal policies, please contact the Circulation Desk at 305-348-2451 (Green Library, University Park) or 305-919-5718 (Biscayne Bay).
  • An item is approved for renewal only when the "Successfully renewed -- [date]" message displays for that item.
  • Watch carefully for that message and make note of the new due date since you are responsible for returning or renewing items on time.
  • To confirm that all items you wanted to renew have been renewed, return to the "View Items You Have Borrowed" list and verify each due date.
  • You are encouraged to print this screen for your records.
  • For purposes of fines and bills, the system due date prevails for any renewal transaction.
  • Each time you click to renew any item(s), the system counts each click as one renewal.

Renewal Eligibility
You may renew items through this system under the following conditions:
  • Your patron category (student, faculty, etc.) permits renewal privileges, as explained in the Circulation Policies.
  • The item is eligible for renewal.

Renewal Prohibitions
You may not be able to renew all items using the online renewal feature, and the number of times an item may be renewed varies. Please note the item's due date in case it has changed due to a recall request. Renewal requests may be blocked under the following conditions:
  • The book or item is on hold or recall for another borrower.
  • You have reached or exceeded the maximum number of system defined renewals permitted for a given item. Please be aware that you should only renew an item when it is near the due date. You have a maximum number of system defined renewals, and it is recommended that you invoke these renewal requests only when needed. If you have questions, please refer to the Circulation Policies.
  • Your library card has expired.
  • You have exceeded the maximum number of materials you may check out or renew.
  • You have reached the maximum number of overdue items allowed.
  • You have unpaid library bills.
  • You have at least one billed item (caption "BILLED") outstanding, indicating that the overdue is excessive and a replacement charge has been sent to the FIU Accounts Receivable Office for collection.
  • The item may not be renewed and should be returned to the library by the due date. For example, books borrowed through Interlibrary Loan may not be renewed using this feature.

Denied Renewals

What can I do if the system will not honor my renewal request? Several reasons may prevent an online renewal. Please bring the materials to the Library for assistance.
