Library Services available to FIU Alumni
  • Use of Library resources and services in-house.
  • Checking-out library materials (use your FIU I.D. card).
  • Recall, Renew, and In-Process requests – both online and in person at the Circulation Desk.
  • Full use of photocopiers (copy card purchase is required).
  • Full use of networked printers for library computers (copy card purchase is required).
  • Onsite access to all library databases, including the library catalog and full-text resources.
  • Intercampus Loan (loans and document delivery requests between the campuses).

Additional information

  • Your FIU ID card is your permanent library card.
  • Alumni are subject to overdue fines and lost materials charges.
  • There is no limit to the number of checkouts you may have at any time.
  • The Alumni loan period is for 3 weeks regardless of previous status; renewals of 3 weeks is allowed unless there is a recall or hold request for the item.
  • Audio-Visual materials are available, with some restrictions.
  • Remote access to some electronic databases is restricted because of licensing and contractual agreements with vendors.
  • Interlibrary Loan is a specialized service for currently for enrolled students and faculty; this service is available from your local public library.
  • Consortium privileges are granted only to faculty and enrolled students; you may obtain a SEFLIN library card at your local public library.
