Library Research Guide
Steps to Finding Library Resources:
- Go to the Library Homepage. - http://library.fiu.edu/
- Click off-campus access

- To Find Peer-Reviewed Articles in Public Administration click Research (tab @ top).

Quick Research Databases:
- Academic Index
- Omni File Full Text Mega
- Proquest
Try these databases as they tend to have lots of full-text and each has the ability to limit to Peer-Reviewed Journal Articles.
- Click Public Health
- Click Dietetics & Nutrition and/or Public Health, General.

- Sample Search using Medline via Cambridge Scientific Abstracts in the Dietetics & Nutrition Database List.

- Sample Search: elderly and nutrition. You need to think like a computer. What other words mean the same thing as elderly and nutrition? How about aged, elders, senior, nourishment, diet...

- When you get your results, be sure to click the Peer‐Reviewed Journals tab. Notice the descriptors used; if one fits, click on it!

- When you find an article you want to read, click on
. A new window opens and searches for the full‐text of the article across 300+ databases. Below are options for getting the full‐text of an article.

- If the FIND IT @ FIU menu says: Sorry, no holdings were found for this journal. This means the full-text is not online but it doesn't mean you can't get the article!
- Use Intercampus Loan to request an article delivered to your desktop from one FIU Campus to another.
- Use Interlibrary Loan to request an article delivered to your desktop when it is not in FIU Libraries.
