Imagine the Library of the Future

Libraries are changing. Resources are becoming digitized and accessible from anywhere in the world. The Library of Congress, the world's biggest library with 90 million books, is working with scientists to digitize all the books on a chip the size of a thumbnail. Instead of warehouses of books, libraries are providing services and research when and where you need it!

Librarians are examining social networking and how it may impact the role of libraries. Some of the current issues include how and what users and librarians share on the Web, privacy issues, and the Libraries’ current and future roles in social networking.

The following resources dicuss the above issues and more. What do you think the future library will look like? What would you like to see in the library of the future?
