Hours of Operation

• Requests are processed:  Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  FLEX Service is unavailable during semester intercessions and holidays.
• Requests may be submitted at any time.
• Requests submitted during these times will be processed as soon as delivery resumes.

Service Information

• Desktop Delivery of Articles -- Requests for articles held and available in the FIU Libraries (Green Library, Biscayne Bay Library) will be delivered electronically to your desktop within 24 business hours providing the materials are available and located on the shelves in the Library.
• Hold and Pull Service for Books -- Request for books held and available in the FIU Libraries (Green Library, Biscayne Bay Library) will be pulled and held for you at the Circulation Desk for 7 days.
• You may select at which campus library you wish for the materials to be delivered and held for you -- Green Library, Biscayne Bay Library, or Engineering Library Services Center (your choice).
• If the material requested is unavailable, you will be notified by email. Please allow three (3) days for the library to search.
• Flex Service does not operate during weekends, holidays, or during breaks.
• Incorrect information may delay processing of the request. Please do not abbreviate.

Policy Statement

• FLEX is available for faculty located in the Green Library and Biscayne Bay Library. Faculty members at other locations will need to request materials via Intercampus Loan.
• Requested materials must be normally allowed to circulate outside the library. Photocopies of articles are delivered electronically.
• There is no limit to the number of requests. Multiple requests may result in delivery on successive days. You are encouraged to prioritze your requests.
  To request materials from the other campus, use Intercampus Loan.
