Our Mission
The mission of the Digital Collections Center of the Green Library is to build online collections of enduring value for university and global users by identifying, digitizing, and preserving information resources of scholarly, educational, and civic interest.
On the institutional level, the Digital Collections Center aligns its activities to Florida International University's six strategic themes:
- International
- Environmental
- Florida and Local Economic Development
- Health
- Arts, Culture, and Diversity
- Learning Opportunities
On the statewide level, the DCC participates in cooperative Publication of Archival, Library & Museum Materials (PALMM) digital library initiatives with the other (ten) Florida Board of Education's Division of Colleges and Universities (DCU) libraries and the Florida Center for Library Automation (FCLA). PALMM projects are administered by the Digital Initiatives Subcommittee (DISC) and overseen by the State University Library Council (SULC).
